Journal 4 March 27 (Day 14) A Shutterbug in our Midst! Local newspaper editor Titus, whose publication dominates the news in Ferndale, snaps some more pix of star Carrey for tomorrow’s edition (her deadline is Tuesday, with the paper hitting the street Wednesday afternoons).  She has papers to sell, the opportunity to feature one of Hollywood’s biggest stars in her smalltown periodical, and she’s willing to devote hours on the set during our remaining weeks in Ferndale to get the shots she needs. It turns out that Titus’ husband, Stuart (Ferndale’s former mayor whose family settled here generations ago) runs the county fairgrounds, where our production center is based locally, and where we have erected several indoor sets in case weather hampers our exterior shoot. I do my best to make her appearance on the set as unobtrusive as possible and I discuss shutterbug Titus with Carrey’s security head. We worked together twice before, on “Me, Myself & Irene” and, under much different circumstances, on “Jurassic Park 3.” As for the outcome of Titus’ photos and Wednesday’s paper, we’ll read all about it tomorrow!
